Memories in the Making Photography is a family owned photography business that works exclusively on-location. Established in 2002, the company remains small providing quality customer service, affordable prices, and professional photographic services.
In 2005, we refocused our photography to working exclusively with Dance Photography and Fine Arts. In 2006, we added Cheer & Gymnastics Photography.
Our dance photography services include annual portrait photography, nutcracker/holiday photography, and performance photography (performance photography is primarily done in the off season due to volume during the busy season).
About the Photographer
Jennifer has her BFA and MA in dance. She has been dancing since age 3 and was instantly hooked when her parents enrolled her in her first dance classes (Ballet and Tap). She has studied, taught, performed, and choreographed primarily in TN and GA. Although her graduate work centered around the Business of the Arts, Dance History, Criticism, and Technology, she has studied a wide array of styles including ballet, pointe, jazz, show tap, modern, liturgical, lyrical, and ethnic. Her background has led her to many different areas including choreographing for musical theater, working as a technique coach for a gymnastics team, being a dance judge, and even performing in Country Music Videos.
Jennifer has been involved in photography almost as long as she has been in dance. As a child, she enjoyed following the family pets around the house taking informal snapshots and posing them for the occasional portrait. Growing up, Jennifer also enjoyed traveling with her parents throughout the United States learning about history and new places while exploring the art of landscape photography. In high school, she joined her school's newspaper staff and in college further dived into photography through classes at the University that she attended. It wasn't until her time in graduate school that she realized that she could merge her love of the arts into one path. Soon, friends began asking for photo sessions and she was a published photographer in Dance Spirit and Dance Teacher magazines. Jennifer has also studied at the Washington School of Photography and has a certificate in photography from the New York Institute.
